Aug 14th, 2010 - Most of the Lowes hardware stores (and Home Depot) too have a kids workshop of a regular basis where kids can come in and build something.  Our local Lowes store in Carrollton has an event about once a month and my mom makes it a point to register me for it.  Today the Build and Grow was to build a Bug Box and my Dad took me for it. We arrived a little before 10 AM when the event begins and there was already a decent crowd forming there. Since my mom had registered my name, we got into a separate line and quickly got our Bug Box kit, an apron and a hammer.

We found a table to work on. My dad opened the kits and it had the instructions, the wooden pieces and nails to go with it. We read the instructions and I assembled it with my Dad's help. He then hit the nails on one side and I hit the nails on the other. The bug box was pretty simple and we finished it very quickly. After we finished it, we went to the table to collect my certificate of completion and a patch that my mom stitched on my apron. After that we walked around the store to do a bit of shopping and many of the associates were asking me about my box.

I had a great time and I am looking forward to the next one in a few days.
