 | July 4th 2006 - I woke up this 4th of July morning and saw my family watching the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest on TV. This is an annual Hot Dog eating contest that has become very popular now because of Takeru Kobayashi, the reigning World Champion. The Americans have been unable to beat him and they attempt to do so every year but have not succeeded in the last 5 years. Today's event was a close contest but Kobayashi won the contest with a record setting 53.5 hotdogs in 12 minutes. Except for the second place winner, the rest were not even in the running.
