Go Potty Go

Image

July 8th,  2008 - The potty adventures (or should I say misadventures) continue. My parents are trying to get me potty trained for the last few days and they have made some progress. At least now I tell Poo-pee, Poo-pee after I am done so its a step in the right direction.

They  are trying a new trick on me and they got a new DVD called "Go Potty Go" and its a 20 minute DVD that talks about sitting on the potty now that I am a big boy. They have also kept the potty near the TV so that I am encouraged to work on it. This morning I sat on the potty and did my poopee so they are keeping their finger crossed that I am getting the message.

Today this was my activity report from school

  • Stacking
  • Spooning
  • Brownstairs
  • Color sorting
  • Tracing
  • Smoother and rough

I also did some Numbers counting

My Activity Report

Image

July 7th,  2008 -  Today marks the start of the 2nd week of going to school and since we were coming off a long weekend, my parents thought I may not be very happy to go to school. My mom took me to school and once I saw the school, I started saying "No Way No Way" and had to be reluctantly pulled from the car. Once we were in, I went in without much of a fuss. My teacher Lindsey took me to the kitchen and my mother went home.

When my mother came back, the teacher gave my mother a report card of my activities today and it reads like this.

  • How to roll unroll mat
  • How to close the door
  • How to tuck in chair
  • How to carry a tray
  • Tracing lines
  • ABC puzzle
  • Learning the days of the week.

Also, I went pee-pee twice (hey my parents don't have to know everything) and ate a snack too.

Trip to the Fort Worth Zoo

Image

July 5th,  2008 - We have been to the Dallas Zoo a couple of times and so my parents decided to go to the Fort Worth Zoo which is apparently the better zoo. We reached there a little late in the morning and the Zoo was relatively crowded with the holiday crowd. My parents took me on the Choo Choo train and we saw many animals and birds like the falmigoes, bobcat, jaguar, some snakes, butterflies, horses, cows, ducks. These are all the things that I see in my books and now I was able to see them in person.

We spent a couple of hours in the zoo and then we had lunch. I had some nuggets and apple juice. It was a very hot day and so we came home pretty quickly. I think I like the Dallas Zoo better (its probably because there is a small water area I can play in)

Happy Independence Day

Thats me in my Red White and Blue

July 4th,  2008 - The 4th of July is Independence Day in the US and its a holiday weekend. My dad was planning on taking us to some place out of town but decided to stay back home. We stayed at home and watched some movies and in the evening we went out to do some shopping and see if we could see some fireworks. The places were very crowded and they felt its hard to manage me in the crowds and so we sat at home  in the evening to watch some movies.

Tomorrow we will be going to the Fort Worth Zoo.

My First Day at School

Image

July 1st,  2008 - Today is my official first day at the Rockbrook Montessori. My parents are probably more nervous than me. I took a bath and then my parents did a small pooja to mark this day. I also asked "Swamideva" to wish me the best as I started my life in school. At least another 20 years of this.

We reached the school at around 8 AM so that we could meet with the director and also do the paperwork. Around 8:15,  the students started to come in and my parents took me to meet my new teacher. I came to know that her name is Lindsey. My parents tried to leave and I realized  that and started to cry but Lindsey asked them to leave. The teacher has a certain schedule for all of us and I think I disrupted her schedule because oy my crying and also I wanted to run and pull all the toys. She was really smart and decided to take us out and then bring us back in a little later and all that helped me calm down.

There was another girl in the class  who was crying a lot because she was missing one of her teachers who has gone away to India on a vacation.

My parents came around 11 to pick me up and I was happy to see them. They were happy to see me and happy to see that I had fun in the school. The teachers said that for my first day, I was pretty fine. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
