Jan 28th, 2007 - Today is my parents' third wedding anniversary and my first anniversary with them. They got lots of phone calls, emails and cards wishing them well. Last year they were hoping I would be born on this day. It also happens to be my uncle Prem's birthday too. We went to a Mexican place called Guelaguetza for lunch. The food was pretty good. It is not the typical Mexican food, no tacos and burritos on the menu. I got to taste a little bit of the chips and salsa. Other than that we spent a relaxing day at home. My dad was trying to get over the fact that there was no football today but was looking forward to the Donald firing someone.

Bombay Palace, Beverly Hills
Jan 24th, 2007 - My father had a company event at the Bombay Palace in Beverly Hills. It was a small group of 20 people. Most of the guests thought I was a girl because of my long hair . The function was pretty nice, people came up to me and tried to talk to me. However, the restaurant itself was a disaster. The hostess was rude, the food was terrible and the restaurant was very poorly lit. I was in a good mood and let out of scream and the hostess came running and said, "Please take your baby out". How rude? I guess babies in Beverly Hills don't cry or make loud noises. Don't think I will ever visit this place again.

Furniture Cruising
Jan 23rd, 2007 - I learnt to stand up with support while I was in India in November. At that time, I was able to stand up but did not know how to sit down without hurting myself. Over the last couple of months, I have changed quite a lot. I can now standup quite easily and also sit down very gently so that I don't hurt my tush. My parents now think I am in the last stages before I walk unassisted. I think the technical term is Furniture Crusing. I walk holding the futon, tables and chairs. Lets see if I can walk before I am 1, which is only a few weeks away.

The Human Paper Shredder
21 Jan, 2007 - Paper, Paper and more paper, Thats all my eyes see these days. The moment I see paper, I have this strong desire to go pick it up and tear it. I have damaged a few of my parents books already, nothing important so far. My father calls me the human paper shredder. My favorite things to shred are my father's notebooks and magazines. I also tend to put the paper in my mouth which is when my parents stop me. I think they are waiting for the day when I will stop putting things in my mouth.
My new Baby Toy Box
Jan 20th, 2007 - It was a pretty lazy Saturday here in Los Angeles. The weather was a bit gloomy but the temperature was rather pleasant. We decided to go to Ikea to buy a few small things and my parents bought me a new toy box. During the day, I scatter the entire room with my toys and everyone is tripping and falling over things, but at nightmy mother neatly puts everything away. Now she has a box to put it in. The box has a nice big lock on it and I enjoyed playing with that today. We also went to lunch at the Chilis in Carson and the service was really terrible. I got to eat some Southwestern Rolls while I was there.
Let Me In
Jan 19th, 2007 - These gates are driving me nuts. I am not able to climb up the stairs or move into the kitchen. I love to go into the kitchen and play at my mother's feet while she is cooking. The problem is that its dangerous for me given the hot water, hot oils etc that she uses when she cooks. She is forced to lock me out of the kitchen. However, I try hard to get in by pulling on the gates or kicking it with my feet. At the end of the day, my father has to come and tighten the gates again. So far, I have not managed to "gate-grash" the kitchen party, but I am very determined to do so.
Don't Tickle me Elmo
Jan 18th, 2007 - For the last few weeks, I babble and make strange sounds and I am extremely ticklish. When I am in the tickled mode, I laugh for no apparent reason. I wonder if my parents will get me the Tickle me Elmo doll someday.
Snow in Los Angeles
Jan 17th, 2007 - Snow in Los Angeles? Its never happened in my lifetime . Well, it did snow yesterday out here in Los Angeles. Its snowed in Malibu of all places, famous for its sunshine and beaches. Well, I happened to be out for lunch yesterday and while I did not get to see snow, I got to see a lot of ice. There was a big hailstorm and there was a shower of small icy rocks for about 15 minutes. Our car had ice over it. It was a cool site and everyone had their cell phones out clicking pictures and taking videos. Its Hollywood and every one always has a camera around here.

Happy Birthday to Me
Jan 15th, 2007 - I turned 11 months today. I celebrate my birthday every month this first year. I think I was in fine form all day. I seemed to have an extra burst of energy, no desire to sleep and as usual "do my own stunts". As you can see, mt T-Shirt makes a statement. To celebrate my 11th month birthday, my mother had made Chicken Biryani. In the evening, when my parents were having dinner, I sampled a little. I liked the taste of Biryani. Can't wait to grow up and have more. My grandmother always calls up on the 15th of every month to wish me and she called today too. Soon I will be a year old.

Trip to the Malibu Hindu Temple
Jan 14th, 2007 - Today is a big Hindu festival, Makar Sankranti and so we decided to go to the temple. The Hindu temple at Malibu is the nearest temple for us and we go there fairly often. We started the day by going to Babies R Us store to buy some new clothes for me. I seem to be outgrowing my existing set of clothes. From the store we went to the temple. It was a long drive and I got a bit uncomfortable along the way. Once we got there, we visitied all the deities . I seemed to like the sounds of the temples bells. I also ate some prasadam too. From the temple we headed back towards home and we had lunch at AnnaPurna restaurant in Culver City. I tried some Channa Bathura and some dosa as well. I like the taste of spicy food.
Dinner at Thai Klang Dong
Jan 13, 2006 - Its been a fairly slow Saturday today. We spent most of the day at home today since my father was busy watching the NFL playoffs. We saw Indianapolis Colts beat the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans beat Philly. In the evening my parents went to Thai Klang Dong, a favorite local Thai restaurant. Once the food arrived, I started banging on the table asking for a small taste and I really liked the food a lot. I spent the rest of the evening on nibbling on the Thai Basil Fried Rice and the Sweet Corn soup. My parents used to frequent this place when I was in the womb and I suppose thats where I must have got the taste for Thai food. See on video by clicking on the read more link. Its not very clear because of the dim lighting.
