 | Feb 19th, 2007 - Apparently the Devil wears Prada, but this Handsome Little Devil does not. My parents have this cute T-Shirt which says "Handsome Little Devil" which you can see me wearing now. Today was a slow day, it was President's Day here and we stayed at home. The weather was gloomy with rain clouds but it cleared out by late morning. For a change, I took a 1 hour nap in the afternoon giving my parents some time to catch up on some things at home. Tomorrow is my father's birthday and I am all excited. Two birthdays at home in a week is always exciting. |
The Food Network, not Cartoon Network
 | Feb 18th, 2007 - Most kids love to watch cartoons but so far I have managed to stay away from cartoons or TV in general and my parents are very happy about it. They intentionally do not turn on the TV when I am having my meals. My mother loves to cook and she watches the Food Network sometimes and I love to watch the Food Network too. I seem to love eating and always sample food from my parents plate so seems like this is a natural extension of my love for food. |
President's Day at the Citadel Mall
| Feb 17th, 2007 - This is President's Day weekend here and so my father will be home for 3 days and I am so excited. Since we are going to Des Moines next week, my parents wanted to get me some cold weather clothing to deal with the winter there. It may be the first time, I will be in such a cold place and hopefully I will see snow too. Once we got to the mall, we saw that they had a special Sidewalk Sale. My parents managed to get most of the things that they wanted to get for me except for a thick jacket. I had a good time at the mall as there were plenty of people and lots of babies and kids. |
There are many baby and children's store at this mall including Carters, Old Navy and they just opened up a new Osh Kosh 'Bgosh.
Party Time
| Feb 16th, 2007- Although my birthday was yesterday, my parents had my birthday party today because its Friday and its easier for people to come and also stay late. My mother went through a lot of trouble to make a good dinner for the the party. We had Mutton Chops, Vegetable Biryani, Chicken Makhni, Kababs, Cabbage Upkari, Raita and of course my birthday cake. My parents also got some baloons and decorations to setup a party environment. |
My mother's cousin and her daughter came to the birthday party and also my mother's friend and her husband. My parents had ordered a nice chocolate birthday cake which you can see on the left. Everyone loved the food and the cake. I was excited with all the people at home that I kept running around the house. I also sampled the good food from everyone's plate. By 10, I was completely exhausted and fell fast asleep.

Gymboree Play and Music Class
 | Feb 12, 2006 - Today my mother and I went to Gymboree Play and Music classes. Gymboree Play and Music is a play when babies and kids come together to play and learn about different things. The class was at 10:00 in the morning. There were about 10 other mothers with their kids and we all had a lot of fun doing small activities. We sang songs, blew bubbles, sat on a see-saw and ran around the room. I seemed to like it and so my mother signed me up for more classes. We start in about 3 weeks after we come back from Des Moines. |
There was a girl there who name was Nika and she was also born on the 15th of Feb and here I am Nikhil also born on the 15th of Feb. Strange co-incidence. :-). Her grandma was very nice to me and she kept talking to me. She called me handsome. After my haircut I seem to have graduated from cute to handsome.
Kappani - The Haircut Video
Feb 11th, 2006 - You can see the video of my haricut. I was pretty good, did not cry or cause much trouble to the stylist. |
My first Haircut at Kids Kut
| Feb 11th, 2007 - The day my parents dreaded finally arrived, the day of my first haircut. Since I had nice thick hair on my head, they were not very keen on cutting it, but they had to since the hair was falling on my eyes. We went to a hair salon called Kids Kut which is close to our house. I was immediately impressed by the place as they had valet parking (only in Los Angeles). We went up to the store and it was very nice. The seats were designed in the shape of cars which is really nice for boys like me. I immediately started playing with the steering wheel and was very happy. They salon had a first cut package where they would take pictures and give me a certificate as well. |
I was greeted by the Stylist (barber to non-Angelinos) who started talking to me. She gave me bunch of small toys to play with. She started talking to me and kept called me Nicholas for some reason. Anyway, chop chop chop and a few minutes later, I must have lost half of my hair. Goldilocks no more. :-( They gave me my curls and a few small goodies in a bag along with a big Happy Birthday ballon which I was really thrilled about. Click on the read me link to see how I look now.......

Camarillio Premium Oultets - Baby Stores
| Feb 10th, 2007 - The Camarillo Premium Outlet is a place that my parents visit often as its a single place they can go and shop for clothes for me. Since I will be going to Iowa at the end of the month, they wanted to get some cold weather clothes for me. There are many Children's clothing stores there and we went to - Baby Gap - They have a nice baby section and usually very low prices. I got a nice T-shirt for 2 bucks.
- HartStrings - This is my parents favorite store. Its a bit expensive, but has very lovely clothes. They always get something from here.
- Carters, Osh Kosh B'Gosh and Children's Place - all have their outlet stores here.
- Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Nautica and other such stores also have their baby sections with clothes.

Shakira's Hips Dont lie
Feb 8th, 2006 - Every since I was about 8 months old, my parents play this video for me on the TV and I seemed to get mesmerized by the song. I think Shakira likes me, she evens says "Oh Baby, when you talk like that, you make a woman go mad" . Watch me dance....

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!
 | Feb 6th, 2007 - Today is my grandma Gayathri's birthday. She is a grandma by relation but is only ehm-ehm years old. I don't think she will like being called a Grandma. She lives in New Zealand and its also a national holiday there too. We called her and wished her well. The time difference between LA and Wellington is 21 hours right now. She is almost a day ahead of me. Pretty cool. My hair has really gone wild now....Its going to be chopped off soon. :-( |
SuperBowl Sunday
 | Feb 4th, 2007 - Today is SuperBowl Sunday, the biggest sporting in the world (read United States, the people here don't realize how big the World Cup Finals are). Its a clash of the Indianapolis Colts vs the Chicago Bears. I was fast asleep when the game began, which was strange, because I am usually wide awake at the time. Apparently, the start was electrifying with a touch-down from Chicago at the kick-off. The rest of the game had its appareent ups and downs and eventually the Colts came in victorious. |
Last year, I was due to be born on SuperBowl Sunday but I came a week and half late. My mother had made some good snacks for the Super Bowl and overall we had a good time. My dad's going to be a bit bored on Sunday's with no games, but I am going to be very happy as it means more time with me.
Dad's Little Helper
 | Feb 4th, 2007 - Today is SuperBowl Sunday and my father decided to fix the new TV stand he got from Ikea before the game began. The new stand is mainly to prevent me from hitting his big screen TV. My father got all the parts of the stand from his car and started assembling it and I was in the midst of the action. I grabbed the screw-driver, the hammer and went and sat inside the TV stand number of times. I thought I was Dad's Little Helper, but I think he thought otherwise. It took him a good two hours to fix it and get all the other pieces setup. The TV is now at a much higher level and its tough for me to reach it now, but I will get taller. What will he do then? |

The Amazing Magic of Rajesh
| | Feb 3rd, 2007 - Today is Saturday and my mother's cousin Vidhya had called us for lunch at their home. They live in Rancho Pales Verdes. We reached there a little after noon. They had invited some other guests too and I had a lot of fun playing with all of them. They have a large living room and I had a good time crawling all over the place. She had made lots of different Indian dishes such as Chicken Curry, Vegetable Pulao, Rotis, Raita etc. My cousin Nita took care of the baby-sitting duties during lunch. |
I slept for a while only to wake up and see the magic of the Amazing Magician Rajesh. He showed some card tricks. You can see it in the video. Overall it was a fun day and we stayed back for dinner too.
