The Human Paper Shredder

E-mail Print PDF

Image 21 Jan, 2007 - Paper, Paper and more paper, Thats all my eyes see these days. The moment I see paper, I have this strong desire to go pick it up and tear it. I have damaged a few of my parents books already, nothing important so far. My father calls me the human paper shredder. My favorite things to shred are my father's notebooks and magazines. I also tend to put the paper in my mouth which is when my parents stop me. I think they are waiting for the day when I will stop putting things in my mouth.

My new Baby Toy Box

Jan 20th, 2007 - It was a pretty lazy Saturday here in Los Angeles. The weather was a bit gloomy but the temperature was rather pleasant. We decided to go to Ikea to buy a few small things and my parents bought me a new toy box. During the day, I scatter the entire room with my toys and everyone is tripping and falling over things, but at nightmy mother neatly puts everything away. Now she has a box to put it in. The box has a nice big lock on it and I enjoyed playing with that today.

We also went to lunch at the Chilis in Carson and the service was really terrible. I got to eat some Southwestern Rolls while I was there.

Let Me In

E-mail Print PDF

ImageJan 19th, 2007 - These gates are driving me nuts. I am not able to climb up the stairs or move into the kitchen. I love to go into the kitchen and play at my mother's feet while she is cooking. The problem is that its dangerous for me given the hot water, hot oils etc that she uses when she cooks. She is forced to lock me out of the kitchen. However, I try hard to get in by pulling on the gates  or kicking it with my feet. At the end of the day, my father has to come and tighten the gates again. So far, I have not managed to "gate-grash" the kitchen party, but I am very determined to do so.

Don't Tickle me Elmo

E-mail Print PDF

Jan 18th, 2007 - For the last few weeks, I babble and make strange sounds and I am extremely ticklish. When I am in the tickled mode, I laugh for no apparent reason. I wonder if my parents will get me the Tickle me Elmo doll someday.

Snow in Los Angeles

E-mail Print PDF

Jan 17th, 2007 - Snow in Los Angeles? Its never happened in my lifetime Surprised. Well, it did snow yesterday out here in Los Angeles. Its snowed in Malibu of all places, famous for its sunshine and beaches. Well, I happened to be out for lunch yesterday and while I did not get to see snow, I got to see a lot of ice. There was a big hailstorm and there was a shower of small icy rocks for about 15 minutes. Our car had ice over it. It was a cool site and everyone had their cell phones out clicking pictures and taking videos. Its Hollywood and every one always has a camera around here. Smile

Happy Birthday to Me

Jan 15th, 2007 - I turned 11 months today. I celebrate my birthday every month this first year. I think I was in fine form all day. I seemed to have an extra burst of energy, no desire to sleep and as usual "do my own stunts". As you can see, mt T-Shirt makes a statement.  To celebrate my 11th month birthday, my mother had made Chicken Biryani. In the evening, when my parents were having dinner, I sampled a little. I liked the taste of Biryani. Can't wait to grow up and have more. My grandmother always calls up on the 15th of every month to wish me and she called today too. Soon I will be a year old.

Trip to the Malibu Hindu Temple

E-mail Print PDF

Jan 14th, 2007 - Today is a big Hindu festival, Makar Sankranti and so we decided to go to the temple. The Hindu temple at Malibu is the nearest temple for us and we go there fairly often. We started the day by going to Babies R Us store to buy some new clothes for me. I seem to be outgrowing my existing set of clothes. From the store we went to the temple. It was a long drive and I got a bit uncomfortable along the way. Once we got there, we visitied all the deities . I seemed to like the sounds of the temples bells. I also ate some prasadam too.

From the temple we headed back towards home and we had lunch at AnnaPurna restaurant in Culver City. I tried some Channa Bathura and some dosa as well. I like the taste of spicy food.

Dinner at Thai Klang Dong

E-mail Print PDF

ImageJan 13, 2006 - Its  been a fairly slow Saturday today. We spent most of the day at home today since my father was busy watching the NFL playoffs. We saw Indianapolis Colts beat the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans beat Philly. In the evening my parents went to Thai Klang Dong, a favorite local Thai restaurant. Once the food arrived, I started banging on the table asking for a small taste and I really liked the food a lot. I spent the rest of the evening on nibbling on the Thai Basil Fried Rice and the Sweet Corn soup. My parents used to frequent this place when I was in the womb and I suppose thats where I must have got the taste for Thai food. See on video by clicking on the read more link. Its not very clear because of the dim lighting.

See my new hairstyle

ImageJan 10th, 2007  - Ever since I was born, I seem to have more hair on the head than the average baby my age. In fact, most people mistake me for a girl. Embarassed According to some Hindu beliefs, I am not supposed to get a haircut until I turn one and so my parents have not cut my pair. Its grown so long now that I have to tie my hair in a pony tail or comb it down with some water. Take a look at some of the pictures.

Up Up and Away

E-mail Print PDF

Jan 8th, 2007 - I have really become active these days and I see more gates cropping up around the house. Tip - invest in stocks of companies that build gates. I seem to be fascinated by the stairs at this moment and I try and climb up the stairs every time I get a chance. My parents noticed this and have promptly  blocked access. However, every night before I go to bed, they allow me to go up the stairs my self (under supervision ofcourse). Click on the play button to see a video.

Tastes of India

E-mail Print PDF

Image

Jan 7th, 2007 - Most of my life, I have had only one thing......Milk. Thankfully a few months ago, Dr Woo advised my parents to give me solids and so I graduated to Rice, Oats, Carrots, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Peas, Beans, AppleSauce and Prunes. My Indian blood finds all that fairly bland and I was probably longing for some food with spice. On my last visit to the doctor, he said I could try some home cookin'. Ever since then, I run to my parents plate when they are having dinner and taste it. I love the tastes of Indian food.  I have tried Rice, Pulao, Khichadi, Dal, Samosa etc.

Today my mother had made a new dish, Naked Fish Fry and the whole house smelt really nice. I was looking forward to tasting the food at night. Since the curry was a little spicy, they did not give me much. Indian food is the best food in my opinion. Cool

Daddy Day Care

Image Jan 6th, 2007 - My mother is the main person who takes care of me and I am sure I have come on her nerves. Today she got a bit of a break from me. She decided to got to the hair-dressers in the afternoon and I got to spend the afternoon with my father. He spent the afternoon watching the NFL game while I crawled around the house trying to destroy something. In the evening we went to the local Fox Hills Mall in Culver City where we shopped a little and returned home.  I love going to the mall and seeing the different people, the lights, the sound......music to my ears.

Life Behind Bars

E-mail Print PDF

Image Jan 4th, 2007  - Now that I have become more mobile, its time for my parents to lock me down and put me behind bars. They have installed gates at home so that I do not go anywhere up or down the stairs.  I guess its in my own interest because I have become very naughty and reach at anything I can get my hands on. Also since we have stairs at home, there is a good danger that I may fall and hurt myself. They are still planning to get more gates. Lets see who wins this game!!!!
