SuperBowl Sunday

E-mail Print PDF

SuperBowl 41Feb 4th, 2007 -  Today is SuperBowl Sunday, the biggest sporting in the world (read United States, the people here don't realize how big the World Cup Finals are). Its a clash of the Indianapolis Colts vs the Chicago Bears. I was fast asleep when the game began, which was strange, because I am usually wide awake at the time. Apparently, the start was electrifying with a touch-down from Chicago at the kick-off. The rest of the game had its appareent ups and downs and eventually the Colts came in victorious.

Last year,  I was due to be born on SuperBowl Sunday but I came a week and half late. My mother had made some good snacks for the Super Bowl and overall we had a good time. My dad's going to be a bit bored on Sunday's with no games, but I am going to be very happy as it means more time with me. Laughing

Dad's Little Helper

E-mail Print PDF

ImageFeb 4th, 2007 - Today is SuperBowl Sunday and my father decided to fix the new TV stand he got from Ikea before the game began. The new stand is mainly to prevent me from hitting his big screen TV. My father got all the parts of the stand from his car and started assembling it and I was in the midst of the action. I grabbed the screw-driver, the hammer and went and sat inside the TV stand number of times. I thought I was Dad's Little Helper, but I think he thought otherwise. It took him a good two hours to fix it and get all the other pieces setup. The TV is now at a much higher level and its tough for me to reach it now, but I will get taller. What will he do then?

The Amazing Magic of Rajesh

E-mail Print PDF

Feb 3rd, 2007 -  Today is Saturday and my mother's cousin Vidhya had called us for lunch at their home. They live in Rancho Pales Verdes. We reached there a little after noon. They had invited some other guests too and I had a lot of fun playing with all of them. They have a large living room and I had a good time crawling all over the place. She had made lots of different Indian dishes such as Chicken Curry, Vegetable Pulao, Rotis, Raita etc. My cousin Nita took care of the baby-sitting duties during lunch.

I slept for a while only to wake up and see the magic of the Amazing Magician Rajesh. He showed some card tricks. You can see it in the video.   Overall it was a fun day and we stayed back for dinner too.

Another Day of Stunts

Jan 29th, 2007 -  Now that I have become a lot more mobile, I am really upto a lot of mischief. I am no longer satisfied with the toys that I have but I find more fun reaching for things that I am not supposed to grab. I reach out and pull all the DVDs and books down from the shelf. I pull all the wires from their sockets. I pull my diapers and wipes box from the table when my mother is not looking. I also make a quick dash for any shoes and socks that I can find. I think my father got really tired and put me in a box, but I had fun in there too.

BTW, my mother cooked some wonderful lamb chops.....Oh the aroma.....

Happy Anniversary

E-mail Print PDF

ImageJan 28th, 2007 - Today is my parents' third wedding anniversary and my first anniversary with them. They got lots of phone calls, emails and cards wishing them well. Last year they were hoping I would be born on this day. It also happens to be my uncle Prem's birthday too. We went to a Mexican place called Guelaguetza for lunch. The food was pretty good. It is not the typical Mexican food, no tacos and burritos on the menu. Wink I got to taste a little bit of the chips and salsa. Other than that we spent a relaxing day at home. My dad was trying to get over the fact that there was no football today but was looking forward to the Donald firing someone.

Bombay Palace, Beverly Hills

E-mail Print PDF

ImageJan 24th, 2007 - My father had a company event at the Bombay Palace in Beverly Hills. It was a small group of 20 people. Most of the guests thought I was a girl because of my long hair Embarassed . The function was pretty nice, people came up to me and tried to talk to me. However, the restaurant itself was a disaster. The hostess was rude, the food was terrible and the restaurant was very poorly lit. I was in a good mood and let out of scream and the hostess came running and said, "Please take your baby out". How rude? I guess babies in Beverly Hills don't cry or make loud noises. Don't think I will ever visit this place again.

Furniture Cruising

E-mail Print PDF

Image Jan 23rd, 2007 - I learnt to stand up with support while I was in India in November. At that time, I was able to stand up but did not know how to sit down without hurting myself. Over the last couple of months, I have changed quite a lot. I can now standup quite easily and also sit down very gently so that I don't hurt my tush. My parents now think I am in the last stages before I walk unassisted. I think the technical term is Furniture Crusing. I walk holding the futon, tables and chairs. Lets see if I can walk before I am 1, which is only a few weeks away.

The Human Paper Shredder

E-mail Print PDF

Image 21 Jan, 2007 - Paper, Paper and more paper, Thats all my eyes see these days. The moment I see paper, I have this strong desire to go pick it up and tear it. I have damaged a few of my parents books already, nothing important so far. My father calls me the human paper shredder. My favorite things to shred are my father's notebooks and magazines. I also tend to put the paper in my mouth which is when my parents stop me. I think they are waiting for the day when I will stop putting things in my mouth.

My new Baby Toy Box

Jan 20th, 2007 - It was a pretty lazy Saturday here in Los Angeles. The weather was a bit gloomy but the temperature was rather pleasant. We decided to go to Ikea to buy a few small things and my parents bought me a new toy box. During the day, I scatter the entire room with my toys and everyone is tripping and falling over things, but at nightmy mother neatly puts everything away. Now she has a box to put it in. The box has a nice big lock on it and I enjoyed playing with that today.

We also went to lunch at the Chilis in Carson and the service was really terrible. I got to eat some Southwestern Rolls while I was there.

Let Me In

E-mail Print PDF

ImageJan 19th, 2007 - These gates are driving me nuts. I am not able to climb up the stairs or move into the kitchen. I love to go into the kitchen and play at my mother's feet while she is cooking. The problem is that its dangerous for me given the hot water, hot oils etc that she uses when she cooks. She is forced to lock me out of the kitchen. However, I try hard to get in by pulling on the gates  or kicking it with my feet. At the end of the day, my father has to come and tighten the gates again. So far, I have not managed to "gate-grash" the kitchen party, but I am very determined to do so.

Don't Tickle me Elmo

E-mail Print PDF

Jan 18th, 2007 - For the last few weeks, I babble and make strange sounds and I am extremely ticklish. When I am in the tickled mode, I laugh for no apparent reason. I wonder if my parents will get me the Tickle me Elmo doll someday.
