Baby, you can drive my car

March 6,  2007 - My cousin Ayush has a lot of toys to play with and I am having a great time playing with those toys but I seem to be fascinated by his car. Everytime I sit in the car, I get all excited and start turning the steering wheel like I am possessed by  some race driver's spirit. I love turning the key and the wheel on the car and drool once in a while.  My dad said he will buy me a car too once we return to LA. Who knew I would love cars this much. I guess that is a sign that boys are wired differnetly from girls.

I cannot wait to get back and have my own car. My mother a car this year and soon I will have mine too.

Its Time to Party at Jumpin Jacks

E-mail Print PDF

ImageMarch 4,  2007 - Today is the official birthday bash of my cousin Ayush. My aunt had booked this place called Jumpin Jacks which has a bunch of inflatable rides for small kids to play. There were about 10 other kids that were invited to the party. We started the party by playing on the rides. Since I still don't walk, I found it difficult to go on all the rides.  My parents held me and made me slide down some of the rides. I was not scared one bit and I really had a good time. After playing for sometime, we all went to the party room to cut the cake and have some fun there.  This was the first time I have been on such rides and I really had a great time.

After the party, we went to Tandoor for a late lunch. I slept on the car ride over to the restaurant but once we got there, the smell of the food must have woken me up. I had a bit of Mango Lassi too. Wink

Happy Birthday Ayush Anna

E-mail Print PDF

ImageMarch 3,  2007 - Today  is my cousin Ayush's birthday. He turns two years old today. This means one thing, we get to cut and eat cake. My aunt had decorated the house with ballons for him. He likes Elmo so we had some Elmo ballons too. I had a good time playing with the baloons. The other thing that happened to today was the arrival of my father from Los Angeles. I had come to Des Moines earlier and when he arrived, I seem to have forgotten him and got all shy. It took me a few minutes to get back in the groove again.

In the evening, we cut an ice-cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery. It was a nice cake. I got to taste just a little bit.  The big party is tomorrow and I am all excited.

First Snow

E-mail Print PDF

Image

March 1,  2007 - Since I live in LA, I do not get to see snow, although it did fall in LA a few months go. On this trip to Des Moines, I got to see two major snow storms and that left a lot of snow outside my aunt's home. My parents took me to the snow to see how I would react. I seemed to like the cold touch on my hands. Lets hope that when I grow up, I will be able to got to a place with snow and build a snow man, throw some snowballs etc.

This Handsome Lttle Devil Does not wear Prada

Feb 19th, 2007 - Apparently  the Devil wears Prada, but this Handsome Little Devil does not. My parents have this cute T-Shirt which says "Handsome Little Devil" which you can see me wearing now. Today was a slow day, it was President's Day here and we stayed at home. The weather was gloomy with rain clouds but it cleared out by late morning. For a change, I took a 1 hour nap in the afternoon giving my parents some time to catch up on some things at home.

Tomorrow is my father's birthday and I am all excited. Two birthdays at home in a week is always exciting.

The Food Network, not Cartoon Network

E-mail Print PDF

ImageFeb 18th, 2007 - Most kids love to watch cartoons but so far I have managed to stay away from cartoons or TV in general and my parents are very happy about it. They intentionally do not turn on the TV when I am having my meals. My mother loves to cook and she watches the Food Network sometimes and I love to watch the Food Network too. I seem to love eating and always sample food from my parents plate so seems like this is a natural extension of my love for food.

President's Day at the Citadel Mall

E-mail Print PDF

Image Feb 17th, 2007 - This is President's Day weekend here and so my father will be home for 3 days and I am so excited. Since we are going to Des Moines next week, my parents wanted to get me some cold weather clothing to deal with the winter there. It may be the first time, I will be in such a cold place and hopefully I will see snow too. Once we got to the mall, we saw that they had a special Sidewalk Sale. My parents managed to get most of the things that they wanted to get for me except for a thick jacket. I had a good time at the mall as there were plenty of people  and lots of babies and kids.

There are many baby and children's store at this mall including Carters, Old Navy and they just opened up a new Osh Kosh 'Bgosh.

Party Time

E-mail Print PDF

Image Feb 16th, 2007-  Although my birthday was yesterday, my parents had my birthday party today because its Friday and its easier for people to come and also stay late. My mother went through a lot of trouble to make a good dinner for the the party. We had Mutton Chops, Vegetable Biryani, Chicken Makhni, Kababs, Cabbage Upkari, Raita and of course my birthday cake. My parents also got some baloons and decorations to setup a party environment.

My mother's cousin and her daughter came to the birthday party and also my mother's friend and her husband. My parents had ordered a nice chocolate birthday cake which you can see on the left. Everyone loved the food and the cake. I was excited with all the people at home that I kept running around the house. I also sampled the good food from everyone's plate. By 10, I was completely exhausted and fell fast asleep.

Gymboree Play and Music Class

E-mail Print PDF

 Image

Feb 12, 2006 - Today my mother and I went to Gymboree Play and Music classes. Gymboree Play and Music is a play when babies and kids come together to play and learn about different things. The class was at 10:00 in the morning.  There were about 10 other mothers with their kids and we all had a lot of fun doing small activities. We sang songs, blew bubbles, sat on a see-saw and ran around the room. I seemed to like it and so my mother signed me up for more classes. We start in about 3 weeks after we come back from Des Moines.

There was a girl there who name was Nika and she was also born on the 15th of Feb and here I am Nikhil also born on the 15th of Feb. Strange co-incidence. :-). Her grandma was very nice to me and she kept talking to me. She called me handsome. After my haircut I seem to have graduated from cute to handsome.

My first Haircut at Kids Kut

E-mail Print PDF

Image Feb 11th, 2007 - The day my parents dreaded finally arrived, the day of my first haircut. Since I had  nice thick hair on my head, they were not very keen on cutting it, but they had to since the hair was falling on my eyes. We went to a hair salon called Kids Kut which is close to our house. I was immediately impressed by the place as they had valet parking (only in Los Angeles). We went up to the store and it was very nice. The seats were designed in the shape of cars which is really nice for boys like me. I immediately started playing with the steering wheel and was very happy. They salon had a first cut package where they would take pictures and give me a certificate as well.

I was greeted by the Stylist (barber to non-Angelinos) who started talking to me. She gave me bunch of small toys to play with. She started talking to me and kept called me Nicholas for some reason. Anyway, chop chop chop and a few minutes later, I must have lost half of my hair. Goldilocks no more. :-( They gave me my curls and a few small goodies in a bag along with a big Happy Birthday ballon which I was really thrilled about. Click on the read me link to see how I look now.......

Feb 8th, 2006 - Every since I was about 8 months old, my parents play this video for me on the TV and I seemed to get mesmerized by the song. I think Shakira likes me, she evens says "Oh Baby, when you talk like that, you make a woman go mad" Cool. Watch me dance....

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

E-mail Print PDF

I love my mummy

Feb 6th, 2007 -  Today is my grandma Gayathri's birthday. She is a grandma by relation but is only ehm-ehm years old. I don't think she will like being called a Grandma. She lives in New Zealand and its also a national holiday there too. We called her and wished her well. The time difference between LA and Wellington is 21 hours right now. She is almost a day ahead of me. Pretty cool.

My hair has really gone wild now....Its going to be chopped off soon. :-(
