Happy Half-Birthday to Me

Image

Aug 15, 2006  - I turned six months today. Lets celebrate. As soon as I woke up, my parents put on some new clothes on me, and I was so excited as I thought they were taking me on a trip.  I was partly correct, it was a trip to see Dr Woo. That made a bit nervous since I got 4 shots the last time I was there. I thought, hey this is a routine check-up, my parents wont give me shots on this day. Would they??

How wrong I was? Nurse Stacy came and checked me and I had grown to 28 1/2 inches and weighed almost 20 pounds. She said "I was heavy"!!! She left and I was happy since she normally gives the shots.

Dr Woo came in and examined me quickly and gave me his two thumbs up and said I was in good health. Nurse Stacy returned and I quickly realized, TIME FOR SHOTS.....She apologized profusely as she gave me two shots in my legs. I cried a little but took the shots like a man. My parents celebrated this day by getting some lunch from CPK, while I had more milk.

For most of the day, my leg hurt and I could not do my MASTI.......But tomorrow is another day!!!

My First Solid Meal

 Image

Aug-15-2006 - Ever since I have come into this world, all I have had is milk. Milk for dinner, Milk for lunch, milk for breakfst, milk for brunch. I was quite sick of it and today is the day when I finally got to eat some solids. Dr Woo said that I could start off on solids twice a day. My first meal was Rice mixed with milk.  My parents bought a special set of spoons that turn white it its too hot. No burnt tongues for me. :-)

For all this anticipation, it was not that tasty. I had a difficult time eating it, but I know I will do better tomorrow. In a couple of weeks, I will get some veggies, then fruits and chicken. I am sure thats more tasty than this. But hey, its a day to remember for me.

Look Ma, No Car Seat

Image15th Aug, 2006 - As a baby with little strength in  my neck and back, I used to always be placed in a car seat and the car seat would be attached to the stroller. I never quite enjoyed it as all I got to see was the roof or the sky. Now that my neck is much stronger and so it my back, my parents put in directly in the stroller for the first time. We went to the Marina for a walk and I was able to sit properly in the stroller. No more car seat for me (except when I am in the car). Lots of changes for me today. Its exciting!!!

The Mischief Maker

Aug-13-2006 -  Today was Sunday and I was in a great mood all day. I don't know if it was because of my Aunt Nalini's  birthday or my mother's cooking. The diplomat in me says both Cool.  I was up pretty early this morning, around 5 AM for my first feed. I normally get up around 7.  From then on, it was mischief, mischief and more mischief all day. I hardly slept today, just a 30 minute nap all day. I rolled under the chair, rolled all over the living room, kicked the DVD players, kicked anything that I could find. We listened to a lot of music all day. It was fun.

I dont think I have ever laughed as much as I did today. My parents were making funny faces and funny sounds and we all had a good laugh. I wish every day was a Sunday and that way I can have both parents at home to play with me. My father wishes the same too. I think I have taken my mischief to a whole new level today.

Little Peter Rabbit

12-Aug-2006 - I have a couple of CD's with nursery rhymes and lullabyes.  One of my favorite songs on the CD is Little Peter Rabbit.

Little Peter Rabbit’s got a fly upon his nose

Little Peter Rabbit’s got a fly upon his nose

Little Peter Rabbit’s got a fly upon his nose

and he flipped it and he flopped it

and the fly flew away
