Living in a Box

Image 20th Aug, 2006 -  I think I must have mentioned that we are moving to a new apartment at the end of the month and so my parents have started packing their stuff which means, lots of boxes in the house. Everywhere I roll its boxes so I have a good time kicking them. IMHO,  The hollow ones make the best noise. We are almost half done with the packing this weekend. My uncle Rajesh is visiting us from New Jersey tomorrow. I will be meeting him for the first time. My mother has cooked some nice Bhindi Masala today. In the evening, we went out for a walk to the Marina. Its the last few days here for us and then we will move to our new apartment.

19th Aug, 2006 - We finally decided where we want to move so the packing has now moved to a new level. My parents are packing furiously. All I see is more boxes for me to kick. Laughing We spent the day listening to songs from the 80s. They played a song about me.

Oh Nikhil, you're so fine,
You're so fine you blow my mind
Hey Nikhil! Hey Nikhil!

Oh Nikhil, you're so fine,
You're so fine you blow my mind
Hey Nikhil! Hey Nikhil!

Oh Nikhil, you're so fine,
You're so fine you blow my mind
Hey Nikhil! Hey Nikhil!

Hey Nikhil!!!

My Learning Booster Seat

ImageAug 19th, 2006 -  Now that I have started eating solids, I need to sit upright so that I can eat the food easily. My parents bought the Fisher Price Learning Booster Seat for me.  I think its a nice seat as I am able to sit in it comfortably. I am still unable to sit upright on my own, but in this I can sit comfortably without falling down. The booster seat has a 3-position removable base tray and 3 height adjustments. We can also fold it and carry it around as it has  a shoulder strap for easy carrying. Its also dishwasher-safe. My parents also bought the toy insert version which has a small toy for learning and music activities. Some day I will learn about number, letters and food.  My parents originally bought the "Boppy" for me, but its very soft and I was not able to sit upright in it.

Happy Half-Birthday to Me

Image

Aug 15, 2006  - I turned six months today. Lets celebrate. As soon as I woke up, my parents put on some new clothes on me, and I was so excited as I thought they were taking me on a trip.  I was partly correct, it was a trip to see Dr Woo. That made a bit nervous since I got 4 shots the last time I was there. I thought, hey this is a routine check-up, my parents wont give me shots on this day. Would they??

How wrong I was? Nurse Stacy came and checked me and I had grown to 28 1/2 inches and weighed almost 20 pounds. She said "I was heavy"!!! She left and I was happy since she normally gives the shots.

Dr Woo came in and examined me quickly and gave me his two thumbs up and said I was in good health. Nurse Stacy returned and I quickly realized, TIME FOR SHOTS.....She apologized profusely as she gave me two shots in my legs. I cried a little but took the shots like a man. My parents celebrated this day by getting some lunch from CPK, while I had more milk.

For most of the day, my leg hurt and I could not do my MASTI.......But tomorrow is another day!!!

My First Solid Meal

 Image

Aug-15-2006 - Ever since I have come into this world, all I have had is milk. Milk for dinner, Milk for lunch, milk for breakfst, milk for brunch. I was quite sick of it and today is the day when I finally got to eat some solids. Dr Woo said that I could start off on solids twice a day. My first meal was Rice mixed with milk.  My parents bought a special set of spoons that turn white it its too hot. No burnt tongues for me. :-)

For all this anticipation, it was not that tasty. I had a difficult time eating it, but I know I will do better tomorrow. In a couple of weeks, I will get some veggies, then fruits and chicken. I am sure thats more tasty than this. But hey, its a day to remember for me.
